How to change your Minecraft server seed

✅ Requirements

  • A Minecraft server hosted on Final Hosting

  • Access to your Final Hosting control panel

  • A new world seed (either custom or random)

  • ⚠️ Important: Changing the seed will reset the world unless managed carefully.

Step 1: Choose Your New Seed

You can:

  • Use a seed from a seed list (e.g., chunkbase.com)

  • Enter any text or number (Minecraft will convert it automatically)

     Example seeds:

  • 1234567890

  • "MountainsAreCool"

  • -6120648606982687686

Step 2: Access Your Server Files

  1. Log in to your Final Hosting control panel.

  2. Go to your server’s file manager or use FTP access.

  3. Locate the file:

    server.properties
  4. Open server.properties

Step 3: Set the New Seed

  1. Look for the line:

    level-seed=
  2. Add your new seed next to the equals sign:

    level-seed=85834623729
  3. Save the file.

Step 4: Delete the Old World (Carefully!)

  1. In your server file list, locate the world folders:

    • world

    • world_nether

    • world_the_end

  2. Delete all three if you want a completely fresh world using the new seed.

⚠️ WARNING: This will permanently remove your old world. Make a backup if needed.

Step 5: Restart the Server

  1. Go back to your Final Hosting dasboard.

  2. Click "Restart" on your Minecraft server.

  3. The server will now generate a brand-new world using your new seed!

Step 6: Verify the New World

  1. Join your server.

  2. Explore spawn and use /seed if you have permission to verify the correct seed is active.

  3. Confirm that the world looks different from the old one.

⚙️ Troubleshooting
